Rockhopper Exploration PLC is a UK company which was set up in 2004 to explore for oil and gas in the Falkland Islands. Rockhopper has licences to explore in the North Falkland Basin. The acreage was selected as the Directors consider it relatively low risk in exploration terms, with both proven oil and gas and is in relatively modest water depths.
The company has completed an ambitious work programme since listing on AIM in 2005, which has included 2D and 3D seismic and Controlled Source Electromagnetic Mapping (CSEM).
Following the extensive work programme the company is focused on moving towards a drilling campaign.
